Year in review: Reflecting on 2024



As we wrap up 2024, let’s take a look back at another great year in travel at Sun Country Airlines. We launched a new app, flew record numbers of passengers, and we were recognized with a big award.  

 

First, and most important, we want to say thank you to all the guests who flew with us and to all our employees who worked hard all 365 days of this past year to keep our operation running, connect our customers with their loved ones, and bring dream vacations to life.  

  

Some highlights from 2024 include:    

  • Launched (finally!) a new mobile app in May. 

  • Served 108 cities and 131 routes.  

  • Flew more than 4.2 million passengers, with over 26,600 departures.  

  • Hit a new record on Sunday, July 21 with 147 scheduled service flights carrying 25,273 passengers. 

  • Completed our largest MEA weekend operation to date, with 283 scheduled departures. 

  • Served 85,000 passengers across 500+ flights over the Thanksgiving holiday.  

  • Set a charter operations record the weekend of September 13-15, flying 183 charter flights. 

  • Received the Low Cost Airline of the Year Award as a part of the CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence from the Centre for Aviation during the World Airline Leader Summit.   

  • Shared our new employer brand and company values of safety, connection, reliability, and affordability, to guide us with potential talent, colleagues, and customers 

  • Completed 182 flights for Make-A-Wish kids.

  • Unveiled our first ever custom livery celebrating our partnership with Minnesota Gopher Athletics.

 

In 2025, we look forward to our continued commitment to growing when and where our customers need us most.
